“Totally Authentic”

Inexpensive, un-fussy Spanish and American food. This place caters to local immigrants rather than tourists, so what you are getting is the real cuisine rather than something that has been gussied up or watered down.

Totally authentic. Don't order a cheeseburger -- reach for something from the Spanish side of the menu and use liberal doses of their salsas. The waitress noticed that I was interested in trying thin
gs that visitors usually wouldn't and she brought out a plate of fried plantains for me, free of charge.

Excellent service. A visitor to Brooklyn should absolutely stop in here for either lunch or breakfast.

A neighborhood institution.

This was my go to spot for Latin food in the 1990's when I worked in the area.

I don't get back to that part of Brooklyn as often anymore, maybe once a year, but when I do, I make sure to stop in.
The place is always busy, meaning there is alot of turnover and the food is always fresh.

Stopped in yesterday for a Spanish coffee and a beef steak sandwich with cheese, onions and hot sauce. Awesome. Just as I remembered it.

GREATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT FOOD.!!!!!

Came here on a Thursday night for some dinner. We ordered our food from a very friendly waitress and as we were waiting for our food, the place filled up.! The food came and we were NOT disappointed.

Good flavors and nice portions. The Pastelitos de Res were quite good. I've often been bothered by the resemblance of taco meat in some pastelitos, but the flavors were really good and not like a packet of tacos sauce powder.

Definitely stop by.!!!!!

Undeterred by the ongoing gentrification of nearby neighborhoods, this laidback Dominican eatery dating back to the 1970s continues to thrive.

To experience the best this place has to offer you’ll want to order the rotisserie chicken or the roast pork early in the evening or around noon just after the spits have stopped turning. If you miss prime time, don’t despair.

There’s always the triumphant Cuban sandwich with a sweet and tangy guanabana fruit shake.

Total Comfort Food
I love this place. The menu has a kind of grand simplicity to it and the basic dishes are great. Things like garlic shrimp and baked chicken are superb, the back beans delicious and the rice - well - OK. It's down home Spanish cuisine done up right.

“Biggest bargain in the area”
We LOVE this place, for dining in or taking out to eat at home. NO it's not Le Bernadin, but huge dinners at under $10!!!
